The market is expected to open lower today, tracking weak global market cues, as the ongoing US-Iran war continues to weigh on risk sentiment. Major indices in the Asia Pacific retreated as investors reacted to heightened instability in the Middle East after President Donald Trump announced a renewed U.S. blockade on Iranian maritime activity in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. stocks lower on Monday after President Donald Trump announced that he would reinstate a blockade on Iranian ports in the latest escalation of U.S.- Iran hostilities that sent oil prices jumping and dampened risk appetite. Oil prices climbed to their highest level in four weeks on Tuesday after the United States reinstated a naval blockade on Iran and intensified military strikes, while Tehran stepped up retaliatory attacks in and around the Strait of Hormuz, raising fresh concerns over global energy supplies. Back at home, Jindal Saw, Tata Elxsi, LT Technology will release their earnings today. As per provisional figures (NSE, BSE and MSEI in Capital Market Segment), Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/ Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) sold shares worth net Rs. 3062.27 crore and Domestic institutional investors bought shares worth net Rs. 2171.70 crore on 13th July 2026.
