“₹136 crore ka naya order! Kya MIDHANI ban raha hai defence sector ka hidden gem?”

MIDHANI
Recent Order / Business Update MIDHANI has secured a new order worth ₹136 crore. This boosts its total order book to about ₹1,983 crore. Earlier, its order book was reported around ₹1,832-1,827 crore. Their Q1 FY26 results: Revenue ~ ₹170.5 crore (YoY growth modest), Profit After Tax ~ ₹12.8 crore, EBITDA margin ~ 24.22%. They are expecting new orders of ~ ₹701 crore in Q2. Strengths • Strong order book gives good revenue visibility. • High profitability margin (EBITDA at ~24%, which is healthy). • Support from Govt policies like “Make in India”, and focus on defence, aerospace & strategic sectors. These are priority sectors with high barrier to entry. • Indigenous development of many alloy grades; reducing dependence on imports. • Facilities utilization: titanium & special facilities are reportedly at or near full capacity. Weaknesses • Sales growth has been modest/in some periods weak; over longer periods growth has been lower. • High valuation multiples: P/E is quite elevated compared to some peers • Dependence on defence/government contracts means revenue can be subject to policy/supply delays. • Import dependence for some raw materials and strategic inputs. • Possibly limited export presence compared to domestic orders; may constrain scale. Opportunities • Expansion / diversification into newer sectors — e.g. medical/biomedical implants, energy, oil & gas. • Potential export uptick as global demand for specialized alloys grows. • Continued policy push for indigenisation and increased budget allocations could favor growth. • Investing in capacity, technology (R&D) to improve margins further. Threats • Supply chain risks: import of critical raw materials, fluctuations in global input costs. • Delays in government orders or release of payments. • Competition from global alloy manufacturers, particularly in price/scale. • Valuations may be hard to justify if growth or margins don’t meet expectations.
