Flat Open; IT Leads, Cyient DLM Hits Record

Markets opened flat today after Tuesday’s big rally. The Nifty opened at 22,715.75 (down 6 points) and the Sensex at 73,049.76 (up 16 points), against Tuesday’s closes of 22,721.95 and 73,033.78. By about 10 AM both indices were trading in a narrow range, with the Sensex down roughly 100 points and the Nifty near 22,700. Brent crude near $106 and the US 10-year yield around 5.2% are keeping sentiment cautious, and analysts said Tuesday’s rally was largely short-covering. IT is still the strongest sector. Nifty IT rose more than 1% at the open and was the top sector, with IT stocks the main Sensex gainers.
