Lupin Expands European Ophthalmology Business with YUVEZZI Commercialisation Deal

Lupin Ltd has strengthened its specialty ophthalmology portfolio after its wholly owned subsidiary VISUfarma B.V. entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Visus Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Tenpoint Therapeutics, to commercialise YUVEZZI in the European Union, the UK, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. YUVEZZI is a once-daily dual-agent ophthalmic solution containing carbachol and brimonidine tartrate, indicated for the treatment of presbyopia in adults. Under the agreement, VISUfarma will handle regulatory activities, marketing, promotion, distribution and sales across the licensed territories. The partnership includes a strategic investment by VISUfarma in Visus Therapeutics, while Tenpoint and Visus are eligible for milestone payments and tiered royalties linked to net sales. The agreement carries potential consideration of up to €75 million through the first commercial sales, further supporting Lupin’s expansion in specialty eye care.
