Trent Q1 Profit Surges 26% to ₹532 Crore as Zudio Expansion Keeps Growth Engine Running
Trent Ltd., the Tata Group's retail arm and operator of Westside and Zudio, reported a robust performance for the first quarter of FY27, with net profit rising 26% year-on-year to ₹532 crore, driven by strong store expansion and healthy consumer demand across its fashion brands.
The company's revenue from operations increased 18.5% to ₹5,666 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to ₹4,781 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Despite pressure from higher raw material costs, Trent delivered strong earnings, supported by rapid expansion beyond metropolitan markets.
Operational performance also remained impressive, with EBITDA rising 36% year-on-year to ₹847 crore, while EBIT increased 33% to ₹732 crore, reflecting improved operating efficiency and sustained growth momentum.
During the quarter, Trent continued its aggressive expansion strategy by opening one Westside store and 22 Zudio stores, including its first Zudio outlet in the UAE. The company also consolidated three Zudio stores and entered nine new cities, further strengthening its nationwide footprint.
As of June 30, 2026, Trent's retail network stood at 301 Westside stores and 982 Zudio stores, reinforcing its position as one of India's fastest-growing fashion retailers. The strong quarterly performance highlights the continued success of Trent's value-fashion strategy and its focus on expanding into emerging markets, keeping investor sentiment positive on the stock.
