Whirlpool of India Shares Jump 17% on Stake Sale Report

of India shares surged 17% on September 23 after a CNBC-Awaaz report said promoter Whirlpool Mauritius is set to sell its entire 39.76% stake in the company. The deal is reportedly in its final stages, with an announcement expected in the coming weeks. Whirlpool Mauritius has been reducing its holding since 2023. Its stake in Whirlpool of India has fallen from 75% to 39.76% over the past three years, including a 11.24% stake sale in 2025. The latest report indicates that potential buyers include large investors and a major multinational consumer durables company. At around 2:45 pm, Whirlpool of India shares were trading 17% higher at ₹845.75. Meanwhile, the company reported a 29.57% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹102.88 crore in Q1 FY27, although revenue from operations increased 12.1% year-on-year to ₹2,726.75 crore. Total income rose 12.43% to ₹2,795.64 crore during the quarter.
