Engineers India: $450 Million Kenya Contract

ENGINERSIN
) has secured a contract worth more than $450 million from Dangote Group for a refinery and petrochemical project in Kenya. Engineers India will act as the project management and EPCM consultant for Dangote Group's planned 700,000-barrel-per-day greenfield refinery and petrochemical plant in Kenya. The assignment covers the project lifecycle from the initial concept stage through commissioning. The contract is significant for Engineers India because it expands its relationship with Dangote Group beyond the company's earlier work on the 650,000-barrel-per-day Lekki refinery in Nigeria. EIL is also involved in the ongoing expansion of that facility. My view is that the size and international nature of this contract make order execution the main factor to track. The headline contract value is large, but the financial benefit will depend on the timing of execution and the revenue recognition pattern over the project's lifecycle. I will watch order-book growth, execution milestones and the pace at which international projects contribute to revenue. Stance: Tracking the contract as an international order-book addition, with execution as the key variable. Disclosure: Add your actual holding, position or interest disclosure before publishing.
