The Dept for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a MoU with a private digital platform to enhance inclusive entrepreneurship.
To enhance inclusive entrepreneurship and strengthen the startup ecosystem, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with YourStory Media Private Limited. This partnership aims to support startups, foster innovation, and promote entrepreneurship, especially in tier-II and tier-III cities, as well as rural areas of India. The initiative, part of the Bharat Project, seeks to empower one million entrepreneurs through tools driven by artificial intelligence (AI), venture launchpads, and storytelling efforts in regional languages. Additionally, this collaboration will leverage prominent startup events and platforms focused on developers to enhance engagement in India's vibrant startup and tech environment. These platforms will be used to facilitate showcases of innovation, connections between investors and founders, and provide support across sectors including AI, generative AI (GenAI), data, and blockchain. Emphasizing the significance of inclusivity, DPIIT Joint Secretary Mr. Sanjiv Singh stated that this initiative would expand access to essential resources and success stories, particularly for aspiring entrepreneurs from marginalized communities. The MoU was formally executed by DPIIT Deputy Secretary Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Ms. Shradha Sharma, Founder & CEO of YourStory and The Bharat Project, in the presence of senior leaders from both organizations.
