AgriVoltaics World Conference 2026 Overview
The seventh edition of the AgriVoltaics World Conference 2026 commenced on October 21, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, marking the first time this global summit has been hosted in the Global South. Organized around the theme "Powering the Global South," the three-day international event is hosted by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) with support from Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV), in partnership with Conexio-PSE. The summit operationalizes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of "From Power to Empower," which aims to transform rural agricultural communities by enabling farmers to transition from traditional food producers (Annadatas) into clean energy generators (Urjadatas), thereby fostering rural entrepreneurship and climate-resilient economic growth. Bringing together over 1,200 delegates—including more than 150 international experts—the conference featured opening addresses by Union Minister of Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of MNRE Pralhad Joshi. To accelerate systemic adoption, three strategic knowledge resources were officially unveiled: MNRE’s AgriPV Policy Handbook, the India Agrivoltaics Alliance’s Decision-Making Tool, and the International Water Management Institute’s Book of Abstracts. Technical and policy sessions across the summit are focusing on optimizing dual land-use for food and solar power generation, enhancing crop yields under photovoltaic arrays, evaluating specialized financing structures, and establishing scalable, farmer-centric business models to drive dual revenue streams across agricultural landscapes.
