Adani Energy’s profit jumps 145% as its pipeline expands
Adani Energy Solutions Limited (NSE: ADANIENSOL) reported Q2 FY27 profit after tax of ₹1,364 crore, up 145% year-on-year. Total income increased 51% to ₹10,239 crore, while the transmission project pipeline under construction reached approximately ₹87,000 crore. What happened? The company reported quarterly EBITDA of ₹3,548 crore, up 67% year-on-year. Three developments stand out: - Its smart-metering platform reached approximately 14.82 million cumulative installations. - The smart-meter order book stood at 24.6 million meters, with an estimated revenue potential of ₹29,519 crore. - Two new transmission projects, Vizag and Satara, expanded the transmission pipeline under construction to approximately ₹87,000 crore. The company also secured a 2,500 MW round-the-clock power supply contract with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. My analysis The investment case is increasingly about execution across several infrastructure businesses rather than transmission alone. Smart metering offers a recurring project pipeline, while transmission assets provide long-duration infrastructure opportunities. The energy-solutions platform adds another growth engine.
