Gabriel India Makes a Strategic Move Beyond Suspension

GABRIEL
joint venture with South Korea-based HL Klemove is an interesting step because it takes the company beyond its traditional suspension business and into advanced mobility solutions. The JV will manufacture, develop and sell products such as radar systems, front cameras, lidar, automated driving and parking control units, along with embedded ADAS software. Gabriel India will hold 30% in the venture, while HL Klemove will hold 70%. What stands out to me is the direction of this expansion. Gabriel already has a strong presence in the automotive component space, but ADAS and autonomous driving technologies can open up a completely different growth opportunity as these features gradually become more common in Indian vehicles. The partnership also gives Gabriel access to HL Klemove’s technology and product capabilities instead of having to build everything internally from scratch. For me, this is important because the auto-component industry itself is moving from purely mechanical products towards electronics, software and intelligent mobility systems. The immediate financial contribution of the JV may not be the main point to track. I would rather watch how quickly these products get adopted by Indian OEMs, what kind of orders the venture receives and whether Gabriel can build a meaningful second growth engine from this segment.
