Marico invests ₹1,012 crore to raise PLIX stake

Marico raises PLIX stake to 84.09% Marico Limited (NSE: MARICO) has acquired an additional 24.09% stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals, the parent company of PLIX, for ₹1,012.03 crore. The transaction takes Marico’s ownership from 60% to 84.09% on a fully diluted basis. Key details • Marico completed the acquisition on October 5, 2026. • Its aggregate investment for the 84.09% holding now stands at ₹1,392.07 crore. • Satiya Nutraceuticals’ consolidated turnover increased to ₹864.31 crore in FY26 from ₹432.84 crore in FY25. • Marico is expected to acquire the remaining 14.09% stake in July 2027, with base consideration of up to ₹592 crore plus milestone-linked payments. My view The most interesting number is Satiya’s revenue growth. Turnover has nearly doubled in one year, which helps explain why Marico is increasing its ownership despite the sizeable ₹1,012 crore consideration. This also increases Marico’s exposure to nutrition, wellness and premium personal care, businesses that are structurally different from its traditional categories. The key question is valuation. The investment only creates value if PLIX can continue scaling while improving profitability and cash generation. What I’m watching next I will watch PLIX’s FY27 revenue growth, profitability and the final acquisition of the remaining stake in July 2027. Stance: Positive on the growth of the acquired business, but future margins and returns on the ₹1,392 crore invested so far are the key metrics to track. Disclosure: I do not have any holding or position in the stock mentioned above.
