Ola Electric: Strong Volumes, Weak Fundamentals – A Turning Point Ahead?

Ola Electric Mobility

OLAELEC
is trading near its 52-week low, signaling sustained selling pressure in recent months. Despite this, the stock has seen buying with strong volumes recently, moving above its 20 DMA, accompanied by unusual bullish volume activity—a possible sign of short-term interest from traders. On the positive side, promoters have completely released pledged shares—pledge dropped from 6.61% to 0% in June 2025—a move that often improves investor confidence. FII holdings jumped from 2.89% to 4.48%, and public shareholding also rose, while institutional ownership overall climbed from 5.82% to 7.35%. However, the fundamentals tell a different story: Revenue and profit have seen degrowth in recent quarters. Net profit and margins have declined YoY. Quarterly revenue and profit fell compared to both the previous quarter and last year. The stock remains below its 50 DMA and 200 DMA, with a strong bearish technical signal still in place. Investor Takeaway: While the complete removal of promoter pledge and rising FII interest are positives, Ola Electric still faces significant earnings pressure. If the recent volume surge reflects a genuine turnaround, confirmation will likely come from a rebound in revenue growth and margins in upcoming quarters.
