Waaree Energies Q1 FY26 – Strong Execution Backed by Robust Demand

Waaree Energies

WAAREEENER
posted a solid Q1 FY26 performance, driven by high demand across domestic and export markets. The company achieved its highest-ever module production of 2.3 GW this quarter, reflecting strong operational execution and ramped-up manufacturing. Key Financials (YoY Growth): Revenue: ₹4,597 crore (↑ 31%) EBITDA: ₹1,169 crore (↑ 83%) EBITDA Margin: 25.4% (vs 18.3%) PAT: ₹773 crore (↑ 93%) The sharp increase in profitability was driven by scale benefits, cost-cutting, and operational improvements. Notably, the company’s EPC segment grew ~160% YoY, contributing significantly to overall growth. Order Book & Pipeline Strength: Order book: ₹49,000 crore (approx. 25 GW) Global pipeline: 100+ GW This provides strong revenue visibility over the medium term and showcases confidence from global clients. Strategic Expansion: Waaree has approved a ₹2,754 crore capex to expand solar cell and ingot-wafer capacity. Additional module capacity of 4.8 GW will also come online across India and the US. These moves aim to strengthen backward integration and reduce reliance on imports. Industry Context: Despite policy concerns, including the rollback of clean energy subsidies in the US, the company expects continued demand, aided by its expanding US manufacturing footprint and diversification into battery storage, inverters, and green hydrogen. Learning Takeaway: Strong quarterly results are important, but so is forward visibility. Waaree’s execution on scale, profitability, and order inflow suggests a solid long-term growth story. However, capex-heavy models bring execution risks, and global policy shifts must be monitored closely.
