Apollo Tyres slips below both 20-50 moving average

APOLLOTYRE
closed at 411.50, down 0.6% on the day. The stock is now trading under its 20-day average of 412.60 and its 50-day average of 421.33. What happened: the stock peaked near 530 in November last year and has been in a broad downtrend since, bottoming around 370 in June. Since then it has tried to recover but has stalled below 460 on each attempt, including a spike to 465 earlier this month that faded quickly. Why it matters: this is now the fourth failed rally attempt since June, each one topping out lower than the last. That sequence of lower highs is the more important detail here, not today's single-day move. My view: I am watching whether 400 holds. That level has not been tested since the June low, and a close below it would confirm the stock is making a new low rather than building a base. Until that happens, I read this as consolidation within a downtrend rather than a fresh breakdown. What I am watching next: a daily close below 400, or a move back above 421 that would be the first higher high since July. Disclosure: I do not hold a position in Apollo Tyres Limited as of the date of this post
