Bajaj Finance Report Strong Profit Growth

BAJFINANCE
The September-quarter earnings season is producing mixed but notable results across Indian industries. Hindustan Zinc and Bajaj Finance reported strong year-on-year profit growth, reflecting different drivers across the metals and financial services sectors. Their results highlight why investors need to examine business fundamentals and earnings quality rather than relying only on short-term share-price movements. Hindustan Zinc: Profit More Than Doubles Hindustan Zinc reported consolidated net profit of approximately ₹6,412 crore for the September quarter, compared with ₹2,649 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue increased around 77 percent year on year to approximately ₹14,582 crore, supported by favourable zinc and silver prices. The company also reported substantial growth in operating earnings, with EBITDA rising approximately 108 percent year on year. Investors will continue to monitor metal prices, production performance, operating costs, and global demand to assess whether the improvement can be sustained. Bajaj Finance: Lending Growth Supports Earnings Bajaj Finance reported a strong increase in September-quarter profit, supported by growth in its lending business and assets under management. The company reported approximately 29 percent year-on-year growth in consolidated profit after tax, while assets under management increased around 26 percent. Investors should also assess credit costs, asset quality, funding expenses, and the sustainability of loan growth when evaluating the company. What Investors Should Monitor • Revenue and profit growth across successive quarters. • Operating margins and cost trends. • Changes in commodity prices and lending conditions. • Management guidance and future growth expectations. • Valuation in relation to expected earnings.
