Why BSE and CDSL stocks are falling ? Here’s what’s going wrong: [1] Jane Street Ban: - SEBI banned Jane Street for alleged manipulation. - This has hurt overall trading volumes, especially in index options, which BSE heavily depends on for revenue. [2] Fall in Derivatives Volumes: - After the ban, index options turnover dropped 25% across BSE & NSE. - Since BSE earns more than half of its profits from derivatives, this directly affects its income. [3] Regulatory Fear: - SEBI is expected to tighten rules on F&O trading to protect retail investors, after reports of rising retail losses. - This could hurt volumes further. [4] Competition from NSE: - NSE is prepping for IPO and dominates 94% of cash market share. - BSE is still struggling at ~6%. Now, BSE must innovate or risk losing momentum.
