Larsen & Toubro (L&T) expects to tap a $20–30 billion market opportunity in modularisation over the next five years, as demand for modular construction increases globally.
The company estimates that the global modularisation market could reach $100–150 billion over the same period. L&T has indicated that it could potentially target around 20% of this market, subject to competitiveness and evaluation of individual opportunities.
Modularisation Business Expansion
Modularisation involves fabricating major parts of a project at controlled off-site facilities and transporting them to the project location for rapid assembly. This can enable parallel execution, improved safety and quality oversight, greater predictability and reduced complexity at project sites.
L&T currently operates modular fabrication facilities at Kattupalli in Tamil Nadu, Hazira in Gujarat and Oman, with opportunities identified across markets including the US, Canada, Australia and Mozambique.
The company also plans to expand modularisation beyond hydrocarbons into areas such as steel and thermal power, while exploring applications including data centres, prefabricated bridges and other industrial construction solutions.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews
