📌 Bank of India: Q1 FY26 Financial Snapshot
Global business rose to approximately ₹15.06 lakh crore, marking a 10.3% year-on-year growth, led by strong momentum in deposits and advances. Net Interest Income (NII) came in at ₹6,353 crore, up about 5.7% quarter-on-quarter. Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹1,888 crore, showing a decline of nearly 20% compared to the previous quarter, largely due to high base effect and seasonal factors. Loan loss provisions decreased by around 29% QoQ, to approximately ₹1,305 crore, helping cushion the profit dip. In comparison, Q4 FY25 profit was ₹2,601 crore—providing context to this quarter’s performance. 🔍 What This Means for Investors: Bank of India continues to deliver on business growth, especially in its core lending and deposit operations. While margins remained stable and provisions declined, profitability took a hit due to seasonal adjustments from a stronger Q4. The bank’s digital investments, improving asset quality, and prudent provisioning indicate a cautious but stable trajectory. The key watchpoints going forward will be how it sustains margin strength and navigates the broader slowdown in credit demand across the sector. for educational purposes only.
