Nifty 50 August 27 2026 After Nvidia Beat and Jackson Hole

Wednesday closed with the Sensex falling 183.15 points to 77,472.94 and the Nifty down 126.80 points at 24,207.75 — a session where markets gave up early gains as IT, FMCG and auto stocks dragged benchmarks lower through the afternoon even as private banks and metals held up.

BHARTIARTL
, Power Grid Corporation and Infosys were the top three Nifty losers on the day. But the bigger story arrived after Indian markets closed: Nvidia reported Q2 FY27 revenue of $96.2 billion, up 106 per cent year on year — beating the street consensus of $91.7 to $92.2 billion convincingly. Q3 FY27 guidance came in at $108 billion — also above estimates. The one caveat: gross margin guidance was cut to 74 per cent from 75 per cent previously, which sent Nvidia shares lower in after-hours trade despite the revenue beat. For Thursday's Nifty IT session, that margin guidance cut is the variable to watch. When Nvidia beats revenue but cuts margin, the market's reaction in Asian IT stocks has historically been mixed — revenue-linked plays rally, margin-sensitive software service stocks hesitate. Key levels for Thursday: Immediate resistance: 24,350 to 24,400 Immediate support: 24,050 to 24,100 !Jackson Hole begins today; Fed Chair Kevin Warsh speaks Friday August 28 FPIs bought Rs 27,186 crore of Indian equities in August through August 25 — institutional support remains constructive !KOTAK Mahindra Bank gained 3.76 per cent and Axis Bank rose 1.62 per cent on Wednesday's close — private banks providing the clearest sector bid even on a negative day for the headline index. Whether that private bank strength continues into Thursday while the market digests Nvidia's margin miss will be the session's defining early trade. Not financial advice. Always do your own research before investing.
