Power Grid Corporation of India New CFO Appointment

Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) appointed Amol Babulal Taori as Director (Finance) and CFO with effect from August 20, 2026. Taori succeeds Venkata Subrahamanayam Vallurie in the role, and the appointment is for a period of five years. The CFO change arrives at a point when the company is executing an ambitious capital programme. Gross fixed assets stand at Rs 3.25 lakh crore, transmission lines span 1.86 lakh circuit kilometres, and 1,635 km were commissioned in Q1 FY27 alone. Projects in the pipeline total Rs 1.19 lakh crore, backed by a capex target of Rs 37,000 crore and a capitalisation target of Rs 30,000 crore for FY27. Q1 FY27 financial performance: Revenue: Rs 11,496.72 crore PAT: Rs 3,598.42 crore, down 0.89 per cent year on year Operating revenue on a trailing 12-month basis: Rs 41,136.17 crore Pre-tax margin: 39 per cent FY26 EPS: Rs 17.13, up from Rs 16.69 in FY25 The 52-week range runs from Rs 250 to Rs 324.95. The stock has declined 12.3 per cent over the past six months and 6.67 per cent over the past year. Debt to equity stands at 185 per cent, which remains a structural characteristic of the transmission utility business model. Promoter holding is 51.3 per cent. Institutional holding has increased in the last reported quarter. On August 21, Power Grid Corporation was the top Nifty 50 gainer in the session, even as the broader Nifty ended virtually flat at 24,252 and FMCG, IT and auto stocks faced selling pressure. The company also acquired Krishnagiri REZ Transmission Limited on August 3, 2026, under a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding process, for the establishment of inter-state transmission system for integration of Krishnagiri REZ Phase-I on a build, own, operate and transfer basis.
