SBIN
State Bank of India remains an important stock to watch as investors prepare for another week of quarterly earnings announcements.
For a large bank, loan growth is only one part of the story. The ability to mobilise deposits at a reasonable cost is equally important.
My research checklist:
1. Credit growth: Is lending expanding across retail, corporate and small-business segments?
2. Deposit costs: Can SBI attract deposits without significantly increasing funding expenses?
3. Asset quality: Are fresh bad loans and credit provisions remaining under control?
4. Net interest margin: Is the bank converting its lending activity into sustainable profitability?
What matters most?
A bank can expand its loan book rapidly but still face pressure if deposit costs rise faster than lending yields. That is why I would assess margins and asset quality together.
My view
SBI deserves a results-led assessment. I would look for consistent earnings growth, stable credit quality and sustainable margins before forming a stronger directional view.#TechnicalViews
