Pajson Agro India IPO
PS Agro, a cashew processing company established in 2021, is bringing its ₹75 crore IPO (₹118/share, Dec 11-15) to fund a new plant, valuing the company at ₹280 crore. Led by Ayush Jain, with Pulkit Jain as a significant, albeit passive, owner, the company owns its plants and sells under 'Royal Mewa' while supplying manufacturers. While the financials show impressive growth in revenue and profits, closer scrutiny reveals red flags. The balance sheet's recent surge appears largely debt-fueled and inventory-heavy, raising questions about organic expansion. More concerning is the apparent disproportionate profit contribution from 'stock-in-trade' (trading cashews) versus its core processing, suggesting a potential misdirection of operational focus. Additionally, the brand name and logo are yet to be registered. Despite an seemingly attractive P/E of 14-28x compared to industry peers, these fundamental discrepancies cast a shadow. While cashews are a premium product, the inflated financials and reliance on trading rather than core processing create significant risk. Investors should approach with extreme caution. This IPO carries speculative risk; a small, high-risk allocation for listing gains might be considered, but long-term prospects remain hazy given the financial structure.
