Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone is in the business of development, operations and maintenance of port infrastructure (port services and related infrastructure development) and has linked multi product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and related infrastructure contiguous to Port at Mundra. Key Points Business Verticals The Co.’s business verticals include a comprehensive network of ports & terminals (82% of total revenue), Logistics (8%), SEZ & Ports (6%) and Operations and Maintenance (4%). The integrated service offered by the company has enabled it to forge an alliance with leading business and has evolved to be the market leader of the Indian port Industry. Largest port operator in India APSEZ is India’s largest port developer and operator comprising 13 domestic and 2 international ports (Haifa & Colombo Port)[3] and terminals and 538 MMT of operating capacity. It also possesses the largest container handling facility in India. Nearly 62% of its capacity is on the west coast of India and 38% on the east coast. Growth through Acquisitions APSEZ expanded its footprint in Maharashtra by acquiring a 100% stake in Dighi Port. The acquisition of the Krishnapatnam port / AKPL was completed in FY21 and it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of APSEZ in FY22. It completed a ~42% acquisition of Gangavaram port by Q4 of FY22 and intends to integrate Gangavaram port fully into APSEZ’s portfolio in terms of operations and financials by FY23. The acquisition of Sarguja Rail Corridor Pvt. Ltd. was completed and consolidated in APSEZ books with effect from 1st April, 2021. High Cargo Growth The company has reported a high cargo across all the ports and it achieved a cumulative growth of 11% for FY21. It has been able to outgrow the industry growth majorly due to its efficient and agile management as the ports have the lowest transit time compared to its competitors and more than 60% of the Cargos are backed either by Long term pacts or by Strategic partnerships.
