NP up 12% YoY to Rs 9604 crore in Q4FY2025, in line with street’s estimates On consolidated basis Quarter ended March 2025 compared with Quarter ended March 2024. Net sales (including other operating income) of Coal India has declined 1.02% to Rs 37824.54 crore. Operating profit margin has jumped from 29.80% to 31.17%, leading to 3.54% rise in operating profit to Rs 11,790.15 crore. Raw material cost as a % of total sales (net of stock adjustments) increased from 8.17% to 8.51%. Employee cost decreased from 32.89% to 29.54%. Other expenses rose from 31.27% to 33.15%. Expenses from contract rose from 19.41% to 23.21%. Other direct service cost fell from 1.80% to 1.37%. Other income rose 75.45% to Rs 3937.22 crore. PBIDT rose 15.37% to Rs 15727.37 crore. Provision for interest rose 3.86% to Rs 241.14 crore. Loan funds rose to Rs 9,145.73 crore as of 31 March 2025 from Rs 6,523.03 crore as of 31 March 2024. Inventories rose to Rs 12,613.70 crore as of 31 March 2025 from Rs 10,177.23 crore as of 31 March 2024. Sundry debtors were lower at Rs 12,727.72 crore as of 31 March 2025 compared to Rs 13,255.75 crore as of 31 March 2024. Cash and bank balance rose to Rs 34,215.31 crore as of 31 March 2025 from Rs 30,235.17 crore as of 31 March 2024. Investments rose to Rs 7,591.33 crore as of 31 March 2025 from Rs 7,110.41 crore as of 31 March 2024 . PBDT rose 15.57% to Rs 15486.23 crore. Provision for depreciation rose 47% to Rs 2781.77 crore. Fixed assets increased to Rs 92,528.49 crore as of 31 March 2025 from Rs 82,639.07 crore as of 31 March 2024. Intangible assets increased from Rs 11,989.43 crore to Rs 12,721.46 crore. Profit before tax grew 10.40% to Rs 12,704.46 crore. Share of profit/loss was 126.82% higher at Rs 168.73 crore. Provision for tax was expense of Rs 3280.66 crore, compared to Rs 3051.18 crore. Effective tax rate was 25.48% compared to 26.35%. Minority interest increased 72.48% to Rs -11.49 crore.
