FII AND DII DATA ANALYSIS
The recent shift in Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) from net sellers to net buyers in Indian equities, with a significant purchase of ₹40,145 crores over the last 12 trading days, marks a notable trend in market dynamics. This reversal can largely be attributed to several macroeconomic factors, notably President Trump's decision to pause tariffs, which has created a more favorable trading environment.
Additionally, the weakening of the US dollar has enhanced the attractiveness of emerging markets like India, encouraging FIIs to allocate capital to these regions. This influx of investment not only enhances liquidity in the Indian markets but also signals growing confidence among international investors in India's economic stability and growth potential.
However, it's essential to contextualize these developments within the framework of future earnings projections. With estimated earnings growth of only around 5% for FY25, there are concerns that this modest outlook could limit the momentum of FII inflows in the long term. Investors may become more cautious if earnings growth remains stagnant, as it could diminish the appeal of Indian equities compared to other markets.
