: Jio Financial's lending assets rise 154%

Jio Financial Services Limited (NSE: JIOFIN) reported that gross assets under management at Jio Credit rose 154% year on year to ₹37,320 crore in Q2 FY27. Revenue from operations increased 73% to ₹1,699 crore. The lending business is expanding quickly. Net interest income more than doubled to ₹302 crore, indicating stronger activity in the core lending operation. However, consolidated profit after tax fell 51% to ₹340 crore, partly because the previous year included dividend income that did not recur. My view: Operating growth is encouraging, but the quality and sustainability of earnings matter more than headline growth alone. Investors should separate recurring lending income from other income when assessing the business. What to watch next: Track loan growth, net interest income, credit costs and the contribution from the asset management joint venture. Stance: The operating trend is improving, but earnings quality and credit performance need continued monitoring.
