SEPC Limited’s ₹854.57 crore SAIL contract expands its order

SEPC Limited (NSE: SEPC) signed an ₹854.57 crore contract with Steel Authority of India Limited for work at the IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal. Its consolidated order book has crossed ₹10,000 crore. The contract covers the pellet plant’s balance-of-plant package, including civil and structural work. It adds a substantial project to SEPC’s execution pipeline and may support revenue visibility over the coming periods. My view: The order book is now a key metric to track, but a large order book does not automatically translate into strong cash flow or profits. Project execution, payment collection, working capital requirements and operating margins will determine how much value SEPC ultimately derives from this contract. What to watch next: Monitor execution updates, cash-flow performance and the company’s next quarterly results for evidence that the order pipeline is converting into revenue. Stance: The contract is a positive business development, but execution and financial performance need confirmation.
