NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, on February 3 reported its financial results for the December quarter (Q3FY26), posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,747 crore. This marked an 8 per cent decline from Rs 1,896 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, largely due to higher operating expenses. Revenue from operations in the quarter stood at Rs 7,610 crore, registering a 16 per cent increase from Rs 6,567 crore in the year-ago period. At the operating level, the mining major posted an EBITDA of Rs 2,144.3 crore, down 9.6 per cent from Rs 2,372 crore in Q3FY25. EBITDA margins also contracted sharply, declining 790 basis points year-on-year to 28.2 per cent, according to the company’s earnings filing.
