shares slip 1.4%, NPCI cuts TPAP fees on RuPay credit cards via UPI; company issues clarification

Paytm share price: Paytm’s share price came under pressure on Wednesday, falling 1.4 per cent to Rs 1,025 intraday, shortly after the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) revised the fees paid by UPI apps and banks for processing RuPay credit card transactions on UPI, effective April 1, 2026. The circular reduces TPAP fees for consumer RuPay credit card payments, changes that affect revenue earned by UPI apps, but Paytm clarified that the move does not impact its merchant-side earnings.
