!RAILTEL el Bags ₹288 Crore Project to Boost Railway Safety Big Safety Upgrade for East Central Railway RailTel has won a ₹288 crore contract to install the Kavach safety system across 71 stations in the Danapur and Sonpur divisions of East Central Railway. This project covers a 502-km route, making train travel much safer for millions of passengers. RailTel’s Commitment to Innovation RailTel's CMD Sanjai Kumar called this project a "major leap forward" in railway safety. The technology for the project will be provided by Quadrant Future Tek Ltd, ensuring top-quality implementation. What’s Kavach and Why It Matters? Kavach is an indigenous automatic train protection system that prevents collisions by automatically applying brakes if the loco pilot misses a red signal. It’s basically like a safety net for trains, ensuring smooth and secure operations.
