L receives LOA from Southern Railway for electric traction system upgrade

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Southern Railway. The LOA is for the upgradation work of the Electric traction system from 1x25 kv to 2x25 kv traction system. The work covers the Salem Jn. (SA) - Podanur Jn. (PTJ) & Irugur (IGU) - Coimbatore Jn. (CBE) - Podanur Jn. (PTJ) sections of the Salem division of Southern Railway. The upgradation is aimed at meeting the 3000 MT loading target. The company stated that the work is in the normal course of its business.
