Board Approves ₹20,000 Crore Fund Raising

State Bank of India's Central Board, in its meeting held on 16 July 2025, approved a plan to raise funds. The bank will raise up to ₹ 20,000 Crores (Rupees Twenty Thousand Crores) by issuing Basel III compliant Additional Tier 1 and Tier 2 Bonds. The funds are intended to be raised from domestic investors during the financial year 2025-26 (FY26). The fund-raising is subject to Government of India (GOI) approval wherever required.
