ta share price jumps 2% as subsidiary settles long-standing dispute; BUY, SELL or HOLD?

Vedanta Limited’s shares surged 2.2% to hit an intraday high of Rs 461 on the BSE in early trade on Monday, September 15. The jump came after its wholly owned subsidiary, Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), signed a settlement agreement with SEPCO Electric Power Construction Corporation, resolving long-standing disputes. According to a regulatory filing by Vedanta, the agreement, signed on September 11, 2025, at around 9:00 pm IST, settles all disputes related to the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts between the two parties. These contracts pertain to the setting up of a 3x660 MW thermal power project.
