Tata Power Renewables Commissions 100 MW Solar Project

TATAPOWER
: Tata Power Renewables has commissioned a 100 MW group-captive solar project at Kayathar, Tamil Nadu, taking its operational renewable capacity beyond 7 GW, while its total utility portfolio stands at 12.3 GW. The project uses India’s first Flexible Terrain Compatible single-axis tracker along with 2,61,660 mono PERC bifacial modules and is expected to generate around 240.63 million units annually. The power will be consumed by Tata group companies, with Tata Electronics at 53.125 MW, TP Solar at 40.625 MW and Tata Realty & Infrastructure at 6.25 MW. The project is expected to offset approximately 1.5 lakh tonnes of CO₂ annually. Tata Power Renewables has a further 5.3 GW pipeline under development, comprising 2.2 GW solar and 3.1 GW wind capacity, expected to come online over the next 6–24 months. Stock Commentary: Positive; commissioning of the 100 MW project demonstrates continued execution in Tata Power’s renewable energy business and strengthens its operational capacity. The 5.3 GW development pipeline provides significant medium-term growth visibility, while group-captive demand can support capacity utilisation. Investors should track the pace of commissioning and execution of the upcoming renewable projects. Impact: Positive
