Colgate-Palmolive (India) shares gained on July 29 after the FMCG company reported a 7% year-on-year rise in net profit for the June quarter. The company posted a net profit of ₹343 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹321 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations increased 12% year-on-year to ₹1,591 crore from ₹1,421 crore. Commenting on the results, Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director and CEO of Colgate-Palmolive (India), said the company delivered another quarter of strong and competitive performance, driven by sustained growth across its portfolio. The toothpaste business recorded robust high-single-digit volume growth, led by premium products, while the core portfolio also continued to perform well. The company maintained a healthy margin profile through ongoing cost-saving initiatives under its "Funding the Growth" programme and disciplined financial management. Gross margin expanded by 110 basis points year-on-year to 69.7% in Q1FY27. Colgate-Palmolive said it used the strong margin performance to step up investments in brand building and category premiumisation during the quarter. Looking ahead, the company expects to sustain its growth momentum, supported by its science-backed product portfolio and continued investments in advertising. While acknowledging geopolitical uncertainties and commodity price volatility, the company said it remains focused on protecting margins through a combination of cost-efficiency measures and calibrated pricing actions.
