HDFC Bank Reports 4.7% YoY Growth in Q2 FY27 Net Profit

HDFCBANK HDFC Bank, India’s largest private sector lender, reported a 4.7% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to ₹19,510 crore for the second quarter of FY27, compared with ₹18,641 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net Interest Income (NII) increased 9.7% to ₹34,620 crore, supported by strong lending growth. The bank’s net revenue stood at ₹48,450 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The bank’s asset quality showed further improvement during the September quarter. Gross Non-Performing Assets (GNPA) declined to 1.11% from 1.17% in the previous quarter, while the Net NPA ratio improved to 0.37% from 0.41%. HDFC Bank’s Net Interest Margin (NIM) stood at 3.16% on total assets. However, higher provisions and lower treasury gains partially offset the growth in core interest income. HDFC Bank continued to record healthy business expansion, with gross advances increasing 16.3% year-on-year to ₹32.19 lakh crore, while total deposits grew 18.8% to ₹33.27 lakh crore. Retail and SME lending remained key growth drivers, reflecting sustained credit demand. Going forward, investors will closely monitor deposit mobilisation, margin recovery, loan growth and operating efficiency as the bank progresses through FY27.
