ICICI Bank Ltd shares rose more than 1 percent in early trade on Monday after the private sector lender reported better-than-expected earnings for the June quarter. The stock gained as brokerages reiterated their bullish stance, citing sector-leading loan growth, resilient margins and strong asset quality. The stock rose as much as 1.13 percent to Rs 1,460.60 in early trade. On Friday, ahead of the earnings announcement, ICICI Bank shares had closed at Rs 1,444.30, up 1.84 percent for the day. The stock has gained 8.7 percent so far in 2026, outperforming the Nifty 50, which has declined 6.9 percent during the same period. The bank's market capitalisation stood at over Rs 10.43 lakh crore. ICICI Bank on Saturday reported a 15.95 percent year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to Rs 14,804.5 crore for Q1FY27, comfortably ahead of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of Rs 13,616 crore. Net interest income (NII) rose 12.7 percent to Rs 24,384.35 crore, surpassing analysts' estimate of Rs 23,689 crore. Net interest margin (NIM) improved to 4.36 percent from 4.32 percent in the previous quarter, while asset quality remained healthy, with the gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio improving to 1.38 percent. Analyst remained constructive on the stock following the earnings. One brokerage maintained its positive view and said the results underscored ICICI Bank's ability to deliver sector-leading loan growth while sustaining margins despite a challenging operating environment.
