TCS LAPTOP MONITORING TOOL RAISES QUESTIONS OVER SECURITY

Tata Consultancy Services has deployed a Digital User Experience Monitoring tool on company-issued laptops, allowing tracking of applications accessed and time spent on them. The move has raised internal questions over whether the technology is aimed at strengthening data security, preventing data leaks, or monitoring employee activity. TCS has not disclosed the software vendor, its exact capabilities, the data collected or who can access it. The extent of monitoring and whether data is linked to individual employees or aggregated could not be independently established. The development comes after TCS expanded its partnership with Zscaler and launched Workspace Experience Studio focused on digital workplace security and monitoring.
