Shares of UltraTech Cement, Ambuja Cements, Shree Cement and other cement makers gained up to 3 percent on Wednesday after Nuvoco Vistas Corp reported stronger-than-expected June quarter earnings, lifting sentiment across the sector. Nuvoco Vistas surged as much as 17 percent to an over eight-month high of Rs 398 on the NSE after delivering a robust quarterly performance, prompting several brokerages to raise their earnings estimates. The stock has rallied about 25 percent over the past two trading sessions following the earnings announcement. The company's upbeat results and optimistic management commentary reinforced expectations of improving demand, firmer pricing and stronger profitability for the cement industry, triggering broad-based buying across cement stocks. UltraTech Cement climbed 3 percent, while Shree Cement advanced 2.5 percent and Ambuja Cements added 1.4 percent. Among other major players, JK Cement rose 1.4 percent, ACC gained 1.8 percent and JSW Cement increased nearly 2 percent. Brokerages turned more constructive on Nuvoco Vistas after the earnings release. During the post-results conference call, the company's management projected cement volume growth of 7-8 percent for the remainder of FY27, reinforcing confidence in the sector's growth outlook.
