HAL HAL receives 2nd of 12 F404-IN20 engines from GE for LCA Mk1A fighter jets
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Monday received the second of twelve F404-IN20 engines from United States-based GE to power Tejas LCA MkIAs fighter aircrafts, sources in defence establishment said. The Maharatna defence public sector undertaking (PSU), HAL, will receive ten more F404-IN20 engines by the end of December, equipping the same number of LCA MkIAs ready for induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF), sources in the defence establishment added. Defence officials said it takes only a month to mount engines on the airframes. By the end of FY25-26 , the aircrafts post-complete trials will be in a position for handing over to the IAF, Defence officials explained.
