Jindal Steel Surges 3.84%: Is a Trend Reversal Taking Shape?
Jindal Steel witnessed strong buying interest in today's trading session, gaining 3.84% to close at ₹1,102. The stock has staged a notable recovery from its recent October lows, raising expectations of a potential short-term trend reversal.
From a technical perspective, the stock has reclaimed its key short-term moving averages, including the 10 EMA (₹1,058.60), 20 EMA (₹1,061.70) and 50 EMA (₹1,083.70). It is also trading marginally above its 100 SMA (₹1,092.90), indicating improving price strength.
However, the stock continues to trade below its 200 SMA at ₹1,138.30, which remains an important long-term hurdle. Additionally, a downward-sloping trendline from the March-April highs is approaching the ₹1,140–1,150 zone.
Momentum indicators are showing encouraging signs. RSI has recovered to 58.41, comfortably above its average of 41.78, indicating strengthening bullish momentum. MACD has turned positive at 8.87 and moved above its signal line, supported by improving histogram bars.
ADX at 31.25 indicates a relatively strong trend environment, although confirmation of sustained upside will be important.
The Bollinger Band middle line is near ₹1,045.70, while the upper band is around ₹1,097.80. The latest close above the upper band reflects strong short-term buying pressure, although some consolidation cannot be ruled out.
Key Technical Levels:
Immediate Support: ₹1,083–1,092
Strong Support: ₹1,058–1,061
Immediate Resistance: ₹1,115–1,120
Major Resistance: ₹1,138–1,150
My View:
Jindal Steel is showing a promising short-term recovery, supported by improving RSI and a bullish MACD crossover. The reclaiming of multiple moving averages is encouraging. However, the bigger confirmation will come only after a sustained breakout above ₹1,140–1,150, where the 200 SMA and descending trendline converge. Until then, the stock may remain volatile within a recovery structure.
