Reliance Defence Forms Strategic JV with U.S.-Based Coastal Mechanics for ₹20,000 Cr Defence Opportunity
Reliance Infrastructure’s defence unit has entered into a strategic partnership with U.S.-based Coastal Mechanics Inc. to address a massive ₹20,000 crore opportunity in India’s defence maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and upgrade segment. The joint venture will be established at MIHAN, Maharashtra, focusing on servicing and modernising key Indian defence platforms—ranging from fighter jets like Jaguar and MiG-29 to Apache helicopters and L-70 air defence guns. Coastal Mechanics, a certified U.S. DoD supplier, brings core expertise in aerospace-grade components and mission-readiness systems. This tie-up not only supports India’s self-reliance goals in defence but also boosts local capabilities for global-scale MRO services.
