This move aims to strengthen the bank’s capital position and support future growth. Key Highlights Equity Issuance: Up to ₹7,500 crore will be raised through shares, ensuring minimal dilution impact. Debt Fundraising: The bank plans to secure ₹8,500 crore in debt instruments, either in Indian or foreign currency, over multiple phases. Major Stake Sale: SBI and other lenders are offloading 20% stake to Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) for ₹13,483 crore, making SMBC the biggest stakeholder.
