How does crowdfunding compare to venture capital?

Crowdfunding and venture capital are both methods of raising funds, but they differ significantly in structure and outcomes. Crowdfunding involves raising small amounts of money from a large number of people, usually through online platforms. It’s ideal for validating product ideas and building a community before launch. It typically doesn't require giving up equity, especially in reward-based models. Venture capital, on the other hand, provides larger investments in exchange for equity and often includes strategic guidance from experienced investors. While VC funding offers mentorship and scaling potential, it comes with dilution and investor control. Crowdfunding is accessible and flexible, while venture capital suits businesses aiming for rapid growth and scalability. Each has unique pros and cons.
