What are the dangers of a worldwide recession?

A worldwide recession poses numerous risks, including rising unemployment, decreased consumer spending, and weakened business investment. Global supply chains may suffer disruptions as demand falls across multiple countries. Developing nations, in particular, can face capital flight, currency depreciation, and worsening debt burdens. Governments may struggle to implement effective fiscal responses due to budgetary constraints. Additionally, investor confidence typically plummets during global recessions, leading to increased volatility in financial markets. A synchronized downturn also limits the ability of countries to export their way out of economic trouble, as global demand contracts. Long-term impacts may include lower productivity, stalled innovation, and social unrest stemming from economic hardship and rising inequality.
