What are the risks of investing in AI-driven stocks?

Investing in AI-driven stocks carries several risks. First, valuations can be extremely high, driven more by hype than fundamentals, which increases the risk of sharp corrections. Many companies in the AI space are speculative or pre-profit, meaning they rely on future earnings that may not materialize. There's also technological risk—AI evolves quickly, and today’s leaders could be disrupted by new entrants. Regulatory risk is growing too, as governments begin to impose controls on AI development and usage. Moreover, ethical concerns and public backlash could impact adoption. Finally, the AI sector is highly competitive, and only a few companies may ultimately succeed. Diversification and due diligence are key when investing in this fast-moving area.
