Why is it important to spread investments across different assets?

Portfolio diversification means investing your money across different types of assets like stocks, bonds, real estate, or gold, instead of putting it all in one place. The main goal is to reduce risk. If one investment performs badly, others may do well, which helps balance the overall result. For example, if the stock market falls but gold rises, your losses may be less. Diversification also helps protect your portfolio from unexpected events like economic downturns or company failures. It doesn’t guarantee profits but provides more stability in returns. A well-diversified portfolio is usually based on your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. In simple terms, diversification is like not putting all your eggs in one basket, which is a safer way to grow wealth over time.
