Authum Invests ₹11,025 Cr in Wind World Debt via Security Receipts

Authum Investment & Infrastructure Limited (AIIL) has acquired a 90% stake in security receipts issued by the Omkara PS 05/2025-26 Trust for ₹11,025 crore, marking a major move into India’s renewable energy debt space. The trust holds the restructured debt of Wind World India Limited (WWIL), which was transferred from NARCL, the country’s bad bank. Each receipt has a face value of ₹1,000, with AIIL purchasing 1.1 crore units. The transaction, completed on October 1, 2025, aims to unlock value through potential asset recovery and resolution. WWIL operates and maintains ~4,500 MW of wind power assets and owns 550 MW of operational wind capacity, making it a key player in India’s green energy sector. The deal reflects AIIL’s strategic diversification into renewable energy investments and aligns with the growing trend of institutional investors participating in stressed asset resolution. It also signals confidence in the long-term viability of green energy assets. Disclosed under SEBI norms, this move underscores increasing investor interest in sustainable infrastructure and credit opportunities within India’s evolving clean energy landscape.
