BHEL Bags ₹2,623 Crore in Orders for KAVACH and Thermal Power Projects

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured two significant orders totalling over ₹2,623 crore. First, it received a ₹22.87 crore Letter of Intent (LOI) from Indian Railways’ South Western Railway for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of KAVACH, India’s indigenous automatic train protection system. The on-board and trackside equipment will be manufactured at BHEL’s Bengaluru plant and executed within 18 months. This comes shortly after a major ₹2,600 crore LOI for the 800 MW Anuppur Thermal Power Project from MB Power (Madhya Pradesh). BHEL will supply the boiler, turbine, and generator—manufactured at its Trichy and Haridwar plants, respectively—within 58 months, along with associated controls and instrumentation. These wins reinforce BHEL’s strong presence in both railway modernization and thermal power sectors, highlighting its role in key infrastructure and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
